FileCrypt allows you to communicate and exchange information securely with other people. This information (mail, files, etc.) can be sent over the internet or through any kind of electronic channel or media. FileCrypt is compatible with PGP, the standard in public-key encryption software. This means that the persons to whom you send encrypted or signed files will be able to receive your messages whether they use PGP or FileCrypt. Alternatively, you will be able to verify signatures or decrypt data sent by people using PGP under any operating system, be it Mac OS, Windows or UNIX.
FileCrypt is integrated into the System and is available in all applications you want it to be. This makes it much more easy to use than many other encryption softwares.
The two main services are Encryption and Digital signature or authentication. You will find more details on these and other useful terms in the Glossary section.
