Unordered lists are typically displayed by a browser with a leading bullet (*), so this is
the default factory conversion setting. To specify a different character as the start of a
bullet list, type the leading character (or characters) your lists use into the text field. The
bullet character may be entered by typing "option-8".

In order for text to be interpreted as a list, there must be at least some white space
between the leading characters and the list text. To make sure there is enough space, you
should place a tab or a space character between the leading character and the text in
your document.
