developing a completely visual language became Prograph. In 1988, the
first commercially available version was released on the Mac platform.

Pictorius is using Prograph technology to tackle real world problems. With the Prograph application shell we've designed a framework specifically for the rapid development of CGIs. The Pictorius CGI Toolkit allows users to interactively build, test and debug CGIs and compile them for 68k or Power Mac for high-performance web site functionality.
We've also used the Prograph technology ourselves to develop the Pictorius Net Servers and we're including the source code to them with our development tools for maximum control and extensibility by our customers in the development process. We're releasing Net Servers, free, to introduce Web Masters and Internet developers to the power of Pictorius suite of tools which scales to a family of powerful development environments.
About Other Pictorius Products
The
Pictorius Net Servers are the basis for a complete line of Internet/intranet
application development tools that allow users to set up a Web site or replace
existing server software and enhance the dynamic, interactive elements of any
site.
The Pictorius Net Servers are included with the Pictorius CGI Toolkit and the source code for the Net Servers is included in the development tools: Pictorius Net Builder, Entrada! Corporate and Entrada! Developer. The Pictorius Net Servers support CGIs and ACGIs and are a direct replacement for WebStar with several advantages. They also come with a suite of Agents which provide CGI-like functionality without the performance hit. In addition, the Pictorius Net Servers will include several communication servers all rolled into one tight application so you don't have to integrate many third party pieces with no guarantee of compatibility.
Once you have your site up and running, Pictorius has a series of development tools to help you take your site even further, boost performance and make it easier to maintain. If you use CGIs or ACGIs, the Pictorius CGI ToolKit, based on the Prograph language, can help you quickly write your own. The CGI ToolKit uses the highly interactive interpreter/debugger of Prograph to help you develop compiled CGIs in a way no other textual language can. Launch your Web server, the CGI development tool and your favorite browser on your development system and simply write, test and debug your CGI or ACGI while all the parts are running. Once it's complete, compile for 68K or Power Mac and deploy. We include many examples and an award-winning HTML editor to help you create the site you want.
To add additional Web site functionality into one integrated application, we're developing Pictorius Net Builder. Net Builder includes all the source code to the Pictorius Net Servers along with the full Prograph CPX interactive development environment. Customize your site by adding real-time dynamic elements and intelligence into one tightly integrated application.
Pictorius also offers database connectivity for your Web or intranet site through the Entrada! client/server tools. Entrada! Developer and Entrada! Corporate are full scale client/server development environments with several database connectivity options ranging from DAL/DAM and ODBC to native Oracle and Sybase. With them you have the power of the Prograph language, full source code and database connectivity to bring the information on your servers alive over the Internet or corporate Intranets.
