Using graphics:

Creating an underlaid background

Instead of using a colored or plain background behind your Web page, you may choose to add an interesting underlaid tile background. Visual Page provides an easy-to-use graphic interface for doing this.

To use a graphic tile pattern to underlay your Web Page follow these steps:

  1. In an open Web page document, click on the Document Settings toolbar button. The Document Settings button looks like this:

  2. Click on the Background Image checkbox. An Open File dialog box appears. Locate the graphic file you're going to use, select and open it.

After you open a graphic file, which contains a very small graphic, the graphic tile space appears as shown here:

  3. Check the appearance of the tile on your page by clicking on the Apply button. A graphic may look interestingby itself, but may not be appropriate for use as a tiled background, as shown here:

  4. To try another background tile, click on the Background Image checkbox to deselect it. Click Background Image again to recheck it, then repeat step 3.

  5. When you're satisfied with the background, click OK to display it on your Web page.
