Set the default image editor by choosing Edit > Preferences > External Editors and clicking the Browse button next to the Images field to select an application. 2. Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Macintosh) on an image in the Document window and choose Edit Image from the shortcut menu. Any changes you make to the image will automatically be reflected in Dreamweaver as soon as you save the image file. Use the Paste As Text command when pasting text from Microsoft Word, e-mail programs, and other applications 1. Copy the text from the other application. 2. Click in the Dreamweaver Document window and choose Edit > Paste As Text. Paste As Text retains the original line breaks, while Paste pastes the text as one long line. _______ ADVANCED TECHNIQUES_______________________________ This section describes how to create a rollover highlight quickly and easily in Dreamweaver. 1. Click in the Document window and choose Insert > Image. 2. Give the image a name in the leftmost text-entry field in the Property inspector. 3. Choose Window > Behaviors to open the Behavior inspector. 4. Select 4.0 Browsers from the target browsers list. 5. Select (onMouseOver) from the Events pop-up menu. The parentheses around the event indicate that Dreamweaver must wrap a link tag around the image and attach the onMouseOver event to this link. 6. Select Swap Image from the Actions pop-up menu. 7. In the dialog box that appears, select your image from the list of Named Images. 8. Click the Browse button next to the Set Source To field to select the highlight image. 9. Click OK. 10. Select (onMouseOut) from the Events pop-up menu. 11. Select Swap Image Restore from the Actions pop-up menu and click OK in the dialog box that appears. 12. Preview your page in a browser by pressing F12. Note: The Swap Image behavior works in Netscape Navigator 3.0 and later and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and later. Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 does not support image swapping, but visitors using IE 3.0 will not see any error messages when they view your page. _______ ANNOUNCEMENTS_____________________________________ Would you rather use your keyboard than your mouse?
